Bernice Davies - plaster wall tiles

SHADOW, IMP, MOON & ROSE • These wall tiles are made from dental plaster using a combination technique of casting and carving. Some are painted with acrylic paints, while others are left unpainted. I started making the wall tiles while searching for a way to incorporate the flora, landscape and mood of the Goulburn River National Park into my work. The technique I developed later influenced other areas of my practice (see mirrors).
